‡ Professional Website Design
Fuchsia McInerney began her career in graphic design when she should have been committed to the pages of Milton?s Paradise Lost. While completing her B.A. in English Literature at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, Fuchsia opted for electives in graphic design and in her spare moments honed her programming skills through small web design projects.
Fuchsia spent her first post-grad year in Fort Walton Beach, Florida as a full-time writer, editor and web designer for the nationally distributed bi-annual leisure publication, Destin Magazine. In addition to researching and writing special interest stories, ad copy and everything in between, Fuchsia edited the final copy prior to press, and designed and maintained the official magazine website.
During her time in Florida, Fuchsia also served as President of the Emerald Coast Writers, a regional writers? group of 100+ members. At the helm of this non-profit organization she facilitated the annual literary journal contest and publication, monthly meetings and the annual writers? conference drawing authors, agents and publishers from around the country. To enhance the group?s media exposure, Fuchsia coordinated public relations, composed promotional materials and revamped the official website.
After her crash course in journalism and non-profit leadership, Fuchsia formed Pearse Street Consulting, named after her street of residence during a year studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland, a known source of inspiration for Irish writers and artists. In that spirit, Pearse Street Consulting would approach every design project with the highest aesthetic standards and an intuitive approach to clients? marketing and branding goals.
With the explosion of social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook and LinkedIn, the demand for professional representation with high-level graphics on these sites grew. Specializing in new media design and marketing solutions, Fuchsia and her team of designers and programmers began tackling the MySpace platform, researching work-arounds for coding limitations and pushing the envelope with original design concepts.
Professional designs for artists, non-profits and businesses fill the Pearse Street online portfolio, marking them as ?gurus? in this niche market. Fuchsia has personally designed MySpace profiles for Pope John Paul II, Bigelow Tea, D12, Smiley World, Durex, and many more.
In 2007 Fuchsia relocated Pearse Street to Lynn, Massachusetts on Boston?s north shore. Today she manages a team of in-house and contract designers, specializing in illustrative graphic design, Flash animation, database design, and all realms of computer and Internet geekery.
?Designing for new media is the most exhilarating form of art that I could hope to be involved with,? says Fuchsia. ?From websites to MySpace pages, designing for the Internet gives us the opportunity to share our creativity through a dynamic and interactive user experience. We?re a passionate, albeit nerdy, group but we love what we do, and we?re on a mission to make the Internet a more inspiring place, one project at a time.?

“Innovative design is my passion. Creative solutions are my obsession. I am constantly searching for opportunities to expand my skill and knowledge base to grow as a designer as well as an individual.I was a DOS junkie back in the day, until I hit high school where I was introduced to the new Windows 95 and the craze of AOL. With my ever-growing love of art and code, I began programming DOS applications/games. I joined the computer club that quickly turned into the first web team of Conant High School.
It seems that from that day forward I can’t live without my computer or an Internet connection. Now I use it for all my creative outlets: DJing, writing music, creating digital paintings, programming Web applications, designing websites, and of course anything that falls into the category of professional graphic design.”

After completing his training at Montserrat College of Art in 2006, Ron wandered the vast design world as a mercenary selling his skills to the highest bidder. Dubbing his work Requiem Designs, the young ronin made a name for himself in the design community, often lending his skills to eProcess Development for animation work in product simulation, online education and website design. Constantly jumping between business contracts and tattoo design, the inconstant life of a ronin did not please him. In September ‘07 Ron was approached by Fuchsia who offered him what every samurai needs, a lord to serve. Graciously he accepted this offer and these days you may find him in Lynn, slaying contracts for Pearse Street with unmatched precision and swiftness. His vast array of skills include: graphic design, Flash animations and multimedia design, tattoo design, murals, comic book illustration, logo conception, web and myspace design, CD cover and packaging design, t-shirt design, font conception and typography design, photo manipulation etc.In his free time this samurai enjoys spending time with family, friends and girlfriend. An mma, video game and movie junkie, you will usually find him annihilating the competition in Halo 3, partying and cheering on his favorite UFC fighters or Patriots/Red Sox, pumping iron at gold’s gym, or just relaxing in front of a movie. “Look at Pearse Street. Look at it all lined up here, a family of strapping creative and business-minded net junkies. Kind of makes you proud, doesn’t it? Eye-catching design, flawless code, pearly smiles…wait? Who’s that? The tweedy one? An anaemic cousin?Yep, I’m the one with a book on the subway, on the stairs, on the sidewalk, at the bar, and in the shower. No books? Fine. I’ll just sidle up to my laptop and surf the net, maybe check out MySpace and WHAM! Bad grammar, too many exclamation points, mixed metaphor, misspellings, and is that even a word? What is this person trying to say?
The best thing about my work with Pearse Street is seeing the kind of information that clients might provide in an Excel document transformed into text that makes a good argument or puts a smile to someone’s face. Your website is a resource, and it should be as compelling as anything on your bookshelf.”
